I meet one of the posters - Rob Munro, in Fiji a couple of years ago, really good sort. He runs a centre in Langebaan (something like that). He was only learning at the time but said his spot was unreal for kiting. Any one been there??

Its a awesome spot. I learnt to kite there.
Langebaan is 45 min from Cape Town. The road is quite baron - We get up to speeds of 200km/h. Especially when we know the wind is cranking in LB. It is also a game park... so you need to watch out you dont hit some thing furry that has big teath.

There are 2 good spots at Langebaan. The best spot is Shark Bay.
Small sharks swimming all over the place.. !! and I am not joking.

You will see Seb C and Arron Hadlow kiting during the summer months.

Wind blows all year.. Mostly Summer when it blows every day.
Most of the guys start on 12/14 and on the smallest kite they can find by sun set.

I am not sure what winter is like as I have only kite surfed there in the summer.

Wind is cross shore.
Cape Town is wave kite surfing with flat water out back line.
For flat water you need to go to Langebaan.
Kite Beach is crouded only because every one wants to show off to all the bars and resturants.. you can kite up or down wind and have all the space you want.

Water is FARGING cold.. except for langebaan and the Indian Ocean beaches.

I am off to Shaol for a session..
