I thought I would let you Dudes and Dudettes know I have uploaded
a 4 min video clip of some of us Kite Suring in Auckland.

The name of the file is JAFAS DAY OUT.

My aim of this clip is to let my mates back home see what kite surfing in NZ is about
and show a few location shots.

Its always hard getting footage as I tend to spend as much time in the water as possible.
The days when the sun is out, the wind seems to be light.. So don't expect big boosts, as
I was concentrating more on sunny day footage.

I am now starting to work on the next clip that will focus on more technical moves.

Feedback on the clip would be great.

ha ha madness! your buds at home in SA will see that NZ really is a shit place to kite. auckland has such crappy winds, are you really gonna impress a bunch of folks that live in a country that boasts the worlds best kiteboarding conditions? come on man capetown leaves auckland for dead dude!

As long as you are able to get out on the water most days you should be chuffed.Most places kite surfers live won't offer close to that.

I have mates in Sweden who wait for months for the ice to break so they can have a session.
Guys in Norway who travel 4 hours to there closes surf spot, to top it most times there is no wind.

It takes me 5 min to get to Shoal or Taka depending on wind direction.

Someone puts in the effort in to make a free video for anyones entertainment to watch while you are at work or whatever, and guess the guest comes up with SA vs NZ. ..?

Sorry to hear your residency application to NZ went bad 'Guess the guest''. (Many other SAs don't seem to have a problem dude)

Big Bay rips for example, but many people have no idea how much NZ goes off - some bag it to protect it - but there is a very small chance of overcrowding here. Everyone knows everyone here on the beach - it is chilled and suprisingly attitude free. It is one hell of a friendy place. If visiting, New Zealanders will be pleased and interested to find out about where you are from, and will be proud to show you the freedom and beauty of NZ.


It is a question of right place at the right time. As for CENTRAL Auckland (The video is not Auckland City -Its Auckland region - 2 hours drive from one spot to another - most do not realise how big the 'Auckland region' covers) if you can rip in CENTRAL Auckland, the more consistant winds that you many find in SA(?) would be a piece of piss to ride.

There is no shortage of wind around here buddy so don't bag one hell of a country. I had some great comeback for you but I won't go that low (yet).

I almost popped my kite when I found out who David B was.. :shock:

I was chatting to some one on the weekend who said they tried to download the clip on www.kite-surf.com but the site had closed down.

It was an April fools joke !! The site is still up. Robin who runs the site played a prank.
It was down for a few days as he had a few problems.

I have also had some one say they could not find the video server section (LUKE !!..lol)

On the left hand side of the main screen you will see VIDEOS SERVERS.
Dont take not of how many downloads it had as its easy to hack the system and change this figure.
You will notice how it changes from 450 to 250 every week.. Not sure what the guy is trying to achive, but I am sure he feels important.

I am in the process of making an awesome clip !! The guys were once again cranking at Shake Spear on Sat. I have now got heaps of great footage with some great tech moves up close.

One favour.. As much as its tempting to get up close and show me how well you can spray water my entire camera, its going to hurt when I rap your board leash around your throat and spray you with pesticide.
