hi all

i am heading up to Samoa for a week in mid-october for a holiday with the family and thought i'd chuck my kite in as i figured there is bound to be some worthwhile kitesurfing to be done there.

would appreciate to hear from anyone who has been there who could point me in the right direction.

Whole group went over with Dave and Su Kay last Friday and coming back next Monday. Should get a good idea from them on their return.

We found a great spot but were unlucky with wind - hit a 10 day 'off' cycle.

I am curious as to what weather sites are most reliable for Samoa. Anyone got any ideas?

That's very unlucky Dave, considering we had wind for a couple of days before the 1/08 and again from the 11th onwards!
Great place for kiting overall, but a bit tricky as far as spot selection is concerned, without a bit of local knowledge. Clouds building on one side of the island can easily transform the windiest forecasts into non-happening sessions.
Then tides, church days and the lock down of some places by these suckers of Survivor(TM) will dictate where you can or can't go...

For that matter, Lano looks like a great sedentary option!

As far as weather reports, windguru and windfinder were pretty good.
