Hey Guys,
I have just moved here from Minnesota where the snowkiting season is still in full swing.
I am living in Devenport, so will probably kite around the north shore until I learn about all of the spots.
If you see me out there, please say 'hi', it would be nice to meet some new people
I fly Naish, and will be the girl with the big smile on her face
Later,
M

Hey there,

Let me offer u a big welcome to Auckland
We dont get any snow action in this part of NZ but there's plenty of kitesurfing to be had all year round

BTW if u start to miss the snow there's an indoor snow centre about 20 minutes away

you are close to some of the best kiting in auckland. for one cheltenham beach. be aware that we need to keep 50 meters from swimmers here, and 100 mtrs off the shore. further up there is takapuna for some waves every now and then, and in a SW wind Shoal bay is good on high tide.

there is some awesome kiting up north (2 hrs drive) mangawhai ruakaka, and rangiputa. For snow kiting, there is Ruapehu and in the south island snow farm is great!!

enjoy yourself see you out there.

Dan

welcome Michelle. web wise keep an eye on windguru for orewa, takapuna & auckland west coast, maybe you use that one anyhow. www.metvuw.co.nz is nice for weathermaps, go to forecast charts. pair of booties is handy for some of the in-harbour spots around here 'cause they've got a few oysters & what not on the bottom - meola reef (barefoot hell) , pt chev (barefoot thrills) & shoal bay (barefoot maybe). enjoy
