:?: Hey guys Me and a few other guys are keen to do a Muriwai run.
we will be starting off from the life guard stand at the south end and heading up to the estary on the north end and back again we have worked out that it is a 90km run through the waves and should take about 6-8 hrs to complete Im posting this up here for any one who wants to take up this challange and have epic day on the water we prefer it if you werent a learner as its a very long way and the last thing we want is to have someone end up out to sea

I'm sure you'd get many more people interested if you skip the "coming back south again". Sounds to me like a BIG punishment for all the fun to be had doing a downwinder in Muriwai. :roll:
Just organize a freakin' 4WD bus to collect you at the top. Take your time to make the downwinder last a bit more, surf every wave you can, then hop in the bus, relax and head south.

Or camp at the heads and wait for the wind to turn NW. :twisted:

Hmm yeah im sure we would but we have put this as our goal and have been planning this for awhile now and are going to stick with it. Your more then welcome to stop at the one end and catch a lift back, Just me and a few mates love playing in the waves and going on missions so we will be doing the whole way bro.

Did you do the run in the end? I am interested to know how it went as I would like to do something similar at some stage.

hey bro we attempted it we geared up and headed off but the wind was to southernly and the chop was huge not to mention one of the boys' kite had a leaky um so yeah we had to cancel it untill another day i guess friday the 13th wasnt the best day for it lol we are still keen to do it but we will have re plan it so if you keen kitey im usally down the beach on a 8 eclipse thruster or a 12m eclipse thruster now my 18 is gone with toy boy on my board thanks to decay just come over and say hey for details
