So just after some advice on what would be the best size naish cult to go for based on my weight and board size.

I am 80 - 82kgs and will be riding a 138 board in auckland. So far cant afford a 2 kite quiver, but give it a few months and will look towards the smaller end of the scale too.

So what is the general opinion on here... a 12 and a 9? or is it worth moving a step up to the 13.5?

Cheers

If you are going for the one kite quiver then take the 12 the 13.5 would be awesome if you were going to get a smaller kite to go with it.

but you don,t want to miss out on the higher winds and a 12 is pretty grunty.

Have fun and see you out there.

Dan

I reckon you should get a rev 11 or cab switchy 10m, that way you get the high ish winds and the 15 knot days, I had just a 10m for months and it was great, except above 25 it would beat me up. just my thoughts
cheers

You'd be in control, powered and loving the 13m Waroo 2009 from BEST at your weight. Riding upwind and jumping well from 12 knots to 25 knots no problem.
Add a 9m into the rig when your ready (kite only options available) and your entire wind range is covered.

It's a very strong brand and a quality product.

See BESTkiteboarding.com for all the tech specs and hype
or just give one a ride. I have a demo 13m available no problem.

Riders more into crazy unhooked riding go a size smaller, so 11m + 7m combos or they ride the Nemesis range.

I think it really all depends on what wind pattern we get this year

If we get the same as last year light easterly's as the predominant wind then the 13.5 would be the kite that will get you out the most for sure. (right here is where i could pimp my brand if i had not read your message right) and in my experience most learners benefit from a larger kite (with good depower) as they start, there is nothing worse than being under powered and not knowing why you can't get going, when every one else is riding. Light wind riding is an ART.

I currently 80kg ride 11, 9 and 7mtr kites but use the 11 with a skim board to extend the light wind riding.

the 13 should get you going in 11 - 12 knots smooth wind.

see you at the beach some time!

Dan

dan - do you happen to be down on kohi sometimes? May have had a chat with a guy down there and sent him towards WSP about a month ago? If so will probably see you down there soon and will have to do a beer in mortons. If not then what the hell... beer anyway if you are ever down that way.
