I hear a rumour that doofus is being headhunted by the Australian Institute of Sport.

Getting pretty excited with the event only a month away. Just wondering what the go is?
A few guys are starting to ask a few questions about the event - want to know what the schedule/plan is so that we can start making arrangements for flights and accomm etc.

And this might seem petty... but the flyer looks pretty amatuer for a national event.

I really dont mean to offend the designer... but hey its just my opinion :oops:

OK, we're ready to roll. The entry form with draft programme is now up on the front page of the event website http://www.kiteboarding.org.nz.

"This competition is open to New Zealand citizens and residents – proof of this may be required. Entry is by pre-registration only - the entry fee is $100, and must be received by 5pm, 26 January 2009 to help us get organised (late payment is $150). This entitles you to lunch on all competition days, a t-shirt, entry for spot prizes, and also covers expenses such as judges, MC, and PA etc.."

Sorry for the delay, but we are doing this for the love of the sport, and frankly would rather spend our spare time riding. So here's rule numero uno: No whinging.

The party is planned for Winnie Bagoes/Speights Ale House in the Ferrymead business area, immediately south of the estuary, which caters well for most of our needs apart from accomodation, especially within walking distance. The All Seasons Holiday Park is close by, but still a drive away - see http://www.kiteboarding.org.nz/localinfo.html. Then there are a few motels, otherwise you could look towards Sumner - I googled 'Ferrymead accomodation' and found this: http://www.sumnertoferrymead.co.nz/index.htm.

Things are coming together, with a steady flow of sponsors and at least one new kite up for grabs in the prize pool - a 2009 Ocean Rodeo Rise in the size of your choice. I currently ride 2008 models, and believe me they're a great kite (make mine, er it, a 12m please).

The program and other details such as rules and judging guidelines are also being finalised, and will be released progressively from early next week.
