You managed to get away from the school kids then?
Great way to beat the queues !!

Hoping for suitable conditions next week to join ya !

To get your pics to display, just right-click on flickr image and select Properties, then copy all of the "location" including file extension, and put this between http:// and tags
i.e. Your pic "farm4.static.flickr.com/3102/2649320186_...8eea4d.jpg" appears as :

Where did you go on Turoa side to kite?

.. and is it possible on Whakapapa - I'm guessing you could either go below West Ridge, .. or right up above the Knoll tee ?

mate we are almost out of bounds, was kiting remarks last season and had someone run over my lines so pretty cautious about getting around the public. the last thing we need is to either wreck ourselves or worse yet a punter in the wrong spot at the wrong time.

give us a call if you want to hook up

Hey James,

The 8M Naish Torch is out of this world on the snow!

The kite just floats in near no wind, which is great for the first time on the snow. The cold heavy wind really mellows the 8M Torch, it's not as feirce as kiteboarding on the water.
I think it has to do with cold thick air??

Snowkiting kiteloops on a 8M Torch, that 2nd boost of power and lift - I guarantee it will put a stupid grin on your face!!

Snow relaunching on powder with 5th line can be tricky. If you pull the 5th line to flick the kite on to it's back to quick or to much - it can pull the center leading edge under the powder scooping up the snow causing the snow mound on the kite. But depending on the slope angle you can board to the best or most appropriate position for relaunch before or after this happens.

Have fun, wear a helmet (ice hurts).

Cheers Shane.
