Check out the entrance to Ohiwa harbour, eastern end of Ohope beach.
Just spent 5 days there, 3 of us kiteing.
With the Northerly sea breeze and the tide going out the place was going off, with wind against tide the waves jack up nicely . There is about an 800M channel with sand bars accross most of it, so you have good waves in the middle of the channel. The tide races out so staying upwind is not an issue, much like Raglan.
With a northerly sea breeze you can reach out to another sand bar about 500M of the entrance. This bar had a perfect peeling right hander day after day. When you ride this wave you are kiteing hard upwind so you can surf the wave down the line styles( probably want to hit this bar at the turn of the tide, its a long swim if shit happens with the tide going out)
Similar to Raglan but better.
