i've been out of nz for almost a year now and have started riding bindings (cab custom w/ unions).

are many people riding wakestyle in nz?

i guess it's really expensive to get into like most kite gear.

can someonel link me to the WSP website? can't find it

There are a couple of riders up here- Mike and James.

I had a go in bindings and I really liked them (Escalades) - felt like I could stomp the hardest landings.

No dramas with them for you? (ie knees ok etc..) I am cautious about one binding coming off and doing my greatly abused knees in. Where do you ride.

Hey,

a cheaper option is to use Heelstraps:

Dakine do a great set, I have been using them for about year now. Lock you in for stomping powered landing.
But when the shit hits the fan you can still bust out of them.

not yet bro. but i haven't been riding them yet. still don't have fins on my board so should prob get onto that.

Well I spent the school year at FSU in Tallahassee, FL and help run the kiteboarding club there. But I'm working in Chicago over the summer. No riding yet but we shall see.

saw your post on kiteforum. hit me up if i can help (don't know how, but still)

He's good man, started he's job at Barton's store down the road from Real in Hatteras. He is their full time and only instructor and lives on the store's roof with his gf, who works at Real. The president of our kite club is actually working there as well plus I know a whole bunch of the people who work there from last season, awesome place.

Bro, it can't be the same as bindings!

*******
TO anyone who's interested, read this post of mine and let me know if anyone thinks this would fly back in NZ.

I am riding boots most of the time when the conditions suit these days. For a lot of moves they allow you to ride more powered. But... There is no point chucking them on any old board! You need to make sure the board is wide enough (at least 41cm in most cases) and has enough rocker. It is also worth going one size up to make up for the weight and drag of the boots i.e if you ride 133 normally, get a 138 to use with boots.

Welcome to the dark side...

Hey,

SMPL

For sure, but they are a near equivalent or a step up from just footstraps and a $100+ cheaper. Worth a go before trying a full binding.

LOL, so Dana jumped ship from Real and went for the roor top porn pad!!All good!
Thank him for the Grolsch, Summer ale and pipe rider shuvit's!
