Hi Jeremy,

I haven't seen any mystic harnesses for sale in NZ.

The Dakine Pryro is expensive, but is the best waist harness I've tried, its moulded form grabs your waist better than a sewn harness - it is worth the extra $$ over the Tabu.

Cheers,

DK

PS - Since going to over to flat style kites I've shifted to a pair of Nitrous shorts instead of a waist harness. The lower hook position lets me get more of of the kite by increasing the effective throw of my arms. Nitrous shorts are the ONLY low hook/seat style harness that work well for freestyle.

dk - thanks for the advice. i am using the nitrous shorts at the mo (with a boxer 12) but have been told that a waist harness gives a bit more freedom. better for toeside etc ?

alpha - diff jeremy i think. might give lee a call at anabatic.

cheers

I have a warrior and wouldn't trade it for anything. Cured my back aches and doesn't ride up at all.

If lee cant sort you out go to kitepower.com.au and get them to ship one over.

Flat kites and seat harness ?!?! can it get any gayer than that?
Well, I guess it could with a helmet, a drysuit and riding a TT in the waves.

OK, just kidding Dave, hope its all going well upthere and that you have a windier autumn than we do here

drysuit and tt in the waves sounds like Tim.... although those waves were big and mean, thats why I only did one run and scurried back to the lagoooooon

I'm prob helmut boy too.

ok i'll stop now

harbour boosting, sideways buggying, harwood speed gps'ing, sometime kiteskiing, wave/washing machine kiting, gear breaking, driving about chasing the wind....

Horses for courses Zico, when I rode 5 line C-kites I ran 100mm of travel on my C-loop line and rode a waist harness. I now ride a couple of different flat kites - both 4 line and 5 line, all without stopper balls.

At our best local spot we can ride butter flat water on the inside and NICE waves on the outside. In these conditions I quickly found that while short throw/waist harness worked well on the flat water once in the waves I really needed more throw in my arms to get the most out of the new kites.

Nitrous shorts are nothing like a nappy style seat harness, they have no padding over the hip joint so don't restrict movement. I also ride with the spreader bar straps cranked up but the crotch straps loose. The fit/feel/movement is more like a low sitting waist harness than a nappy seat.

Most important thing with any harness is to get one that fits YOU correctly. There are some people out there who just aren't shaped to wear a waist harness...

Wind has been on/off last couple of weeks, off to Mair road now to catch a 15k SE and test ride a 14m OR1 kite.

Cheers,

DK
