anyone been to fiji or thailand for a kitign trip

i keen to go round june/july for a week.

keen to find out about which island, wind consistancy, that sort of stuff.

i've been to pattaya in thailand and to plantation island fiji

fiji was better

thailand was better just as a holiday than for kitesurfing, the wind is not very reliable and the water quality is very bad, the kite place www.cuttlebone.net is where we stayed, they quote 20 knots most days but really they mean 12knots

fiji was mostly quite light winds too but better than thailand

i've heard good things about mui ne beach in vietnam

i went to mackay in northern qld, oz and that was really nice

oh and newcastle in oz but thats more of a summer season place than a winter one.

I have been to Fiji twice up the northeast of the main island, a place called Nananui ira, it was alright when it was blowing but had a few issues like, no beach at high tide so you couldn't launch and exposed coral at low tide limiting space, so mid tide 15 knots was great but not really what I was after on a kiting holiday. Best part was the teabagger vs poledancer slagging sessions around the table at night-time, we were out numbered bigtime but it was priceless....

My number 1 piece of advice is check out when the wind season is.... if it aint blowing it aint worth going...
