Windsurfer Chris Lockwood pushed the bar a little higher with a 46 knot average session and 48 knot max speeds... but Dave Trewern also kiting Sandy Point is not far behind!

Hit 37.8knots speed here last month and itching to get out for some more.

Forgot to take my gps to invercargill in the w/end, damn it was sooo windy, 42 knots wind and screaming on my 13m venom at Oreti

Craig.....Do you have a death wish? I was in Invercargill last weekend and I'm not so sure it was kiting wind. But the thought did cross my mind that a buggy down the beach might have been a good idea if I had a 1m kite. :roll:

yeah it was very windy

but ok if your heavy and experienced in that kind of wind.

had the 13m fully fully depowered.

now i've got a 10 i'll be looking for even more wind!

thing about the wind was it was quite steady which helps a lot

never seen someone kiting on a 5m waroo before!

Another kiter hits a max speed of over 50 knots!!!

the wind came in late and I got 24knots on my scimitar directional surfboard thing

The worst thing is Craig is we had CRANKING W in Ruakaka today, and excellent tides for a Spot-X mission - you and Su would have had a great chance at that 40knot run...

Oh well - next year....
