I have a 2004 slingshot bar and the depower rope has snapped. Can you get replacements ropes or do you have to buy the whole set up or could i just use some marine rope same gauge for cam cleat.
If anyone can help sourcing to any of the above questions, i would be very grateful.
Thanks rob.

I noticed while out on Sunday that mine is also nearing the end of it's life. It doesn't look like it would be too hard to replace though.

If you guys head in to your local kite shop they should be able to sort that out no problem. I know that kitesports in Christchurch used to have replacement line for the SS chicken loops and so do we here at Ruakaka Kite Sports.

I've had mine break mid session before, so if it looks like it's gonna break it probably will. One of my back lines broke at the same time - due to the load too. So get it sussed, or you might have to pay for more bits!

Cheers

Su

I have an octane 14 and the rope snap after 2 month, a replace it with a sleeved 8mm marine rope then fitht line give trouble so i coated it with heat shrink and it hasn't give trouble since.
slinshot have change the bar now for a carbon insert instead of the stainles steel wich reduce the friction.
It could help to spray silcon on the rope after the session.

With the octane and 2006 model kites the bars wore through and the 5th lines and center lines also wore through. SS replaced them all for free so you shouldnt need to change it all yourself. the new bars with carbon inserts seemed to stop the problem.
